VIDA Wellness and Beauty Center is at Calle Brasilia No. 1, Fracc. El Paraíso, in Tijuana, Baja California. According to VIDA, the facility is about 15 minutes from the San Diego–Tijuana border. VIDA's chief surgeon, Dr. Alejandro Quiroz, founded Cosmed Clinic in 1989 and VIDA Wellness and Beauty in 2013, according to his VIDA profile.

Specialties and Treatment Focus

VIDA's website lists departments for plastic surgery (face, breast and body), weight-loss (bariatric) surgery, dentistry, hair restoration, dermatology, a medical spa, gynecology, hormone therapy, and a men's clinic and longevity clinic.

Weight-loss surgery. VIDA lists gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, gastric banding, duodenal switch and revision surgery (VIDA weight-loss surgery page). According to VIDA, its bariatric surgeon, Dr. Gabriela Rodríguez Ruiz, has performed more than 4,000 bariatric surgeries and holds the Surgical Review Corporation's Master Surgeon in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery designation (VIDA gastric bypass page). VIDA says its gastric sleeve price, "normally starting around $4,300" with restrictions, includes transport, pre- and post-op lab work, surgeon and anesthesiologist fees, post-op medication, one hospital night and one night in its Recovery Boutique (VIDA gastric sleeve page); its gastric bypass package starts at $7,000 and includes a hotel night before surgery, recovery nights with 24-hour nursing, ground transportation, surgeon, operating-room and anesthesia fees, lab work and nutritional support (VIDA gastric bypass page).

Dentistry. VIDA Dental Studio, led by Dr. Carolina Marín, lists cleanings, fillings, bonding, veneers, zirconia crowns, root canals, bridges and dental implants (VIDA Dental Studio page). Its published price list shows a dental implant with abutment and porcelain crown at $1,650, or $1,950 with a zirconia crown (VIDA dental price list).

Hair restoration. VIDA Hair Center by Kaloni offers FUE hair transplants, strip (follicular unit) transplants and mesotherapy, and says it treats women as well as men (VIDA hair restoration page). VIDA does not publish hair transplant prices.

VIDA's medical-team page lists six plastic surgeons — Dr. Alejandro Quiroz (Chief Surgeon), Dr. Juan Carlos Fuentes, Dr. Carlos Castañeda, Dr. Francisco Bucio, Dr. Enrique Quirós Lim and Dr. Samaria Mejía — as well as bariatric surgeon Dr. Gabriela Rodríguez Ruiz and doctors for dermatology, dentistry, gynecology, hormone therapy and aesthetic medicine. Several surgeon profiles on VIDA's site publish the surgeon's Mexican professional licence (cédula) number.

International Patient Experience

According to VIDA, surgery is performed in the surgical center of the on-site ambulatory VIDA Hospital, which is accredited by QUAD A (formerly AAAASF); VIDA says it was the first surgical center in Mexico to receive this accreditation. Patients can recover in VIDA's on-site Recovery Boutique, which VIDA describes as single and double rooms with hospital-style beds, private bathrooms and 24-hour nursing care. VIDA says patients are assigned a personal coordinator, that it offers transportation to and from the United States (San Diego), and that its staff is bilingual. VIDA also offers free virtual consultations with its surgeons.
