How much does a breast lift in Turkey cost?

Our two Istanbul partners price a breast lift as an all-inclusive package:

  • DR MED: $7,311, including two nights in hospital, five nights in a hotel and VIP transfers.
  • Dr. Safa Manav Clinic: €8,500 (about $9,541 at the European Central Bank rate of 2 October 2026), including two hospital nights with a private nurse, nine hotel nights, daily post-op follow-up and transfers.

In the U.S., a breast lift typically costs $4,000 to $9,000 (Cherry, 2026), and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports an average surgeon's fee of $6,816 before anesthesia and facility fees. So these Istanbul packages are not cheaper than many U.S. surgeons once you add flights; their value is the bundled hospital stay, hotel and aftercare. If price is your main reason to travel, our Baja California partners quote $5,199 to $6,500 and are a short drive from San Diego.

Lift, implants or both

A breast lift (mastopexy) raises and reshapes breasts that have sagged after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight loss, by removing excess skin and moving the nipple higher. It does not add volume; implants are added if you also want fuller breasts, which raises the price. Scars usually go around the areola and down to the crease, sometimes along the crease for an anchor lift, and fade over a year or more.

Recovery and how long to stay

Plan on about a week in Istanbul; both packages include five to nine hotel nights. You wear a support bra for several weeks and avoid heavy lifting for about a month. Ask your surgeon about blood-clot prevention for the 10–13 hour flight home.

How to check your surgeon in Turkey

  • Check that the surgeon holds a Turkish specialist title in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery; some also hold the European board qualification (EBOPRAS / FEBOPRAS).
  • Confirm in writing that the surgeon you consulted is the one who will operate.
  • Ask how many of these operations the surgeon performs a year, and for before-and-after photos of patients similar to you.

Insurance and taxes

Cosmetic surgery is not covered by U.S. health insurance, and the IRS does not treat it as a medical expense (IRS Publication 502). The CDC warns that treating complications after surgery abroad can be expensive and may not be covered by your U.S. plan.

Before you travel: what the CDC recommends

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention publishes guidance for Americans travelling abroad for medical care. These are its recommendations, not ours.

  • Check the qualifications of the clinician who will perform the procedure and the credentials of the facility.
  • Bring copies of your medical records, including lab and other test results related to your condition.
  • Make sure you can get follow-up care in the United States. Care for complications can be expensive and might not be covered by your health insurance.
  • Obtain international travel health insurance that covers medical evacuation back to the United States.
  • See your own healthcare provider 4–6 weeks before the trip to discuss risks specific to your health.
